The Quiz Builder lets you create graded assessments with a variety of question types. Quizzes can include AI grading for open-ended questions.
Question Types
- Multiple Choice — single correct answer from 2–6 options
- Multiple Answer — one or more correct answers from a set of options
- True / False — binary choice question
- Short Answer — free-text response, graded by AI against a model answer or rubric
- Essay — extended written response with optional rubric; AI can provide grading feedback
- Matching — students match items from two columns
- Numeric — answer must equal a specific number (with optional tolerance)
Creating a Quiz
- Inside your course, go to Quizzes and click New Quiz.
- Give the quiz a title. Set the available date, due date, and optional time limit.
- Click + Add Question, select the question type, and fill in the prompt, answer options, and correct answer.
- Set point values for each question.
- Click Publish when ready for students to see it.
AI Grading
For Short Answer and Essay questions, ScholarStack uses AI to grade student responses. Provide a model answer and rubric to guide the AI. After submission, review AI-assigned grades and override any scores before releasing results.
Reviewing Submissions
Go to the quiz and click View Submissions to see all student attempts. Click any submission to view the full response, AI grade, and add written feedback.
