The Canvas LMS integration connects ScholarStack with your institution's Canvas instance, enabling course imports and an AI-powered Canvas Assistant.

Prerequisites

• A Canvas instance URL (e.g., canvas.youruniversity.edu)
• A Canvas API token (generated in Canvas under Account → Settings → New Access Token)

Connecting Canvas

1. Go to Dashboard → Integrations → Canvas.
2. Enter your Canvas instance URL and paste your API token.
3. Click Connect. ScholarStack verifies the connection and lists your Canvas courses.

Canvas Import Wizard

Use Dashboard → Canvas Import to start the 6-step import wizard. See the Canvas Integration & Import Wizard article in the For Professors section for the full workflow.

Canvas Assistant

The Canvas Assistant (Dashboard → Canvas) is an AI chat interface for working with your Canvas courses. Ask it to list content, propose quiz questions, or review assignment structures using natural language.

What the Canvas Integration Enables

• Import courses, modules, files, and rosters from Canvas into ScholarStack with a few clicks
• Keep student rosters in sync — add a student in Canvas and they are automatically invited to ScholarStack
• Import Canvas quiz questions directly into ScholarStack quiz builder
• Future: grade passback (grades entered in ScholarStack automatically update the Canvas gradebook) — on the roadmap
